Fundraising is paramount to the sustainability of many non-profit organisations. We combine the fundraising levy with registration fees to alleviate the need to ask for money to support our club throughout the year. All money raised from this levy goes to ensuring our coaches are qualified, our equipment is up to date, our grand finalist are rewarded and most importantly all our players are rewarded with a trophy/gift and a presentation to recognise their efforts.
We value your support and encourage any input to assist the club.
In 2016 we introduced our new uniform, we have kept with our colours of Green and Red and added a touch of Black.
Our club uniform will consist of a dress and Sponsors shirt. Sponsor shirts must be worn at training, game days and club carnivals. Full uniform must be worn to take the court. Shoes must be closed in with a supportive sole and grip. Skate shoes or Volleys are not permitted. Other Club accessories are available ranging from bag, caps, wet weather jacket and fleecy polo jumpers at additional costs. Some items are subject to availability.
UBNC have incorporated the umpiring fee into our registration fee to cover our annual umpiring costs. All game umpires will be remunerated. We encourage our junior umpires and will assist their development with a senior runner (when possible). Junior (training) umpires are not renumerated. Umpiring clinics governed by WWPNA are also available. Juniors interested are asked to see their coach or the Umpires Coordinator. Umpires Coordinator for Umina Beach Netball Club for 2022 is Tiah Santarossa - 0424 545 934.
Duty umpiring is separate to the weekly umpiring allocation. Each senior team will be allocated a number of duty umpires per season. Duty umpiring requires 2 team players to sign in at the tower on their designated day and time slot. If for some unfortunate reason another club does not fulfil their weekly umpiring duty a duty umpire will be called on to umpire the game. In no circumstances would a duty umpire be given a game beyond their ability. A $60.00 club fine payable to UBNC will apply to any team who does not fulfil their umpiring duty. The Fine is payable to WWPNA.
Nominations are open for coaches for the 2022 season. Club activities will be run throughout the year and all coaches and managers are invited to attend. All coaches appointed must hold or be willing to obtain an orientation to netball coaching certificate. All courses are governed by the WWPNA and Netball NSW. Being a coach is very rewarding and anyone can do it. Junior coaches are more than welcome to assist.
Managers will be appointed by team coaches. Parents are encouraged to help as much as they can.
CANTEEN DUTY IS COMPULSORY!!
Canteen duty will be required for all teams. Allocated time slot will be advised. Canteen duty requires set up and pack up of bins, post protectors and general rubbish around the courts. Teams will be required to provide 3 adults or children over 15 yrs to fulfil a maximum 1 hour of canteen duty. Rosters will be drawn up and issued to the teams.
Training days and times will be set by the team coach on the days allocated by WWPNA. Any parent or guardian who is not playing or affiliated with the club, who would like to assist with training, must become a non-player member of the club. The cost is $45.00 & all proceeds are paid to Netball NSW to cover insurance.
Training is at the discretion of team coach and managers. Managers are encouraged to arrange a calling tree to save costs. The coach has the final decision overtraining and if they decide to cancel should give plenty of notice to the team manager. The manager will then proceed to ring 1st person on list, 1st person contacts second and so on until all players are notified. If parents are not completely satisfied with their child’s coach, they are encouraged to approach an executive member to assist in resolving any conflict.
UBNC have a conflict and complaints procedure to ensure the wellbeing of each member.
Games will be as usual in wet weather. Teams may agree to cease play at half-time and the score will stand. Learn to Play games will be decided by the coach on the day no later than 1 hour before the game. Extreme weather cancellations will be made by WWPNA on the morning of the game. Teams wishing to forfeit must contact an Executive as soon as possible as notice must be given to WWPNA and the opposing team.
Umina Beach Netball Club anticipates holding monthly executive meetings in accordance with the club constitution. Three (3) meetings must be attended to obtain voting rights. All UBNC committee and club members are encouraged to join Club Umina for the purpose of attending meetings and other functions. Please see a Committee member for details.
Complaints Procedure / Conflict Resolution
If for some unfortunate circumstance a dispute or complaint does erupt and cannot be resolved diplomatically or fairly between the involved parties then the complaint must be forwarded in writing to The Secretary UBNC by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or in writing to PO Box 3333 Umina Beach NSW 2257
A special meeting will be called between the Senior Executives to resolve the situation. An independent person will be invited to resolve the conflict if the committee are indecisive.
In today’s society we aim to ensure the safety and well being of each child. All committee members are asked to sign a child protection form allowing us to conduct background checks if applicable, these forms will be updated annually and will apply to anyone working in or around the children, this includes canteen volunteers, managers assisting on Saturday’s etc.
We are currently seeking sponsors for the 2022 season, if you are interested please contact us via our Facebook page or via email to email@example.com.
The aim of UBNC is too encourage local business to sponsor our club. Each junior player and committee member will be given club shirts with business names of sponsors. Teams will be encouraged to wear club shirts at training, game day and other club events.
We thank the current committed team sponsors and encourage all club members to support our sponsors whenever they can.
Please take a moment to view our Sponsors on the Sponsors page of the website.
UBNC will maintain an updated club website www.uminabeachnetball.org.au and Facebook account (with maximum privacy). Permission must be given and children under 18 must have parent’s permission for use of names and photos on any club material. Privacy is given priority and in no way would any information be misused. We communicate a lot on these two sites.
